Well, if you can believe it... I got Soft Claws on the cat and no one died. Steady doesn't feel great about forcing vinyl fingernails onto the cat (he had to help), but Steady also doesn't have to take the cat to the vet tomorrow.

Things have been quiet around here.

On Saturday during the day we drove up to Payson. I was tired of looking at the air. It's been more than 125 days without rain. The air is filthy.

The drive was gorgeous, the air was clean, and it was cold outside. All pretty amazing things. We found a lake and learned that you can fish without a license if you're under fourteen or blind. After we walked around it once, we went to a casino and lost $20 at the nickel slots before getting some ice cream and heading back to the land of gross air.

As of tomorrow there are precisely FOUR WEEKS until I go home for my birthday! I haven't been home in eight months now. This is very exciting. (Steady is more afraid of flying than I am, and he finds the prospect of this trip to be something less than "exciting".)
