Hot

It's hot here. Like "Don't linger in you car, that can be fatal" hot. We've moved to sleeping in the downstairs bedroom (because it has the lowest ceilings and is thus the most air conditioned room in this apartment).

It's too hot outside to be hungry. I leave work at lunchtime starving and as soon as I'm in my car nothing sounds good anymore. We're into "Why does anyone live here? Why do we live here?" territory.

I know, you're all having a heat wave, but we're talking about record heat for Phoenix Arizona in July. "The Heat Index is 103 here.", yeah okay, that was May. Just, like, on a normal day. "It's a dry heat", yeah okay so it's 118* outside and the Heat Index is 118* here. One hundred and eighteen degrees. Odds are that your oven has a setting 'round about there.

My favorite part is when we're told that the daily low was the least cold it has been on this day since records were kept. It's not just the hottest this day has ever been, it's also not cooling off at night. Urban Heat Island. Brilliant.

Absurd. It's absolutely unreasonable.

Three more months until it gets back to reasonable temperatures here.
